The Message Trust in Manchester are known for their commitment and passion for evangelism. In autumn 2006 The Message launched the worship event Breathe – primarily aimed at training young Christians in expressing their worship to God. The event was led by Worship Leader Andy Smith who is part of The Message Trust and works for Genetik: The Tribe Academy, training up and developing young worshippers.

The Breathe event which is based on Ezekiel 37, brings together hundreds of kids from Greater Manchester who are hungry and desperate to live God’s way in God’s world. Ezekiel 37 talks about the prophet being taken to a valley full of dry bones, which symbolize death, decay and defeat. God then asks, "Can these bones live?"

"God, the Master, told the dry bones, "Watch this: I'm bringing the breath of life to you and you'll come to life. I'll attach sinews to you, put meat on your bones, cover you with skin, and breathe life into you. You'll come alive and you'll realize that I am God!" I prophesied just as I'd been commanded. As I prophesied, there was a sound and, oh, rustling! The bones moved and came together, bone to bone. I kept watching. Sinews formed, then muscles on the bones, then skin stretched over them. But they had no breath in them & so I prophesied, just as he commanded me. The breath entered them and they came alive! They stood up on their feet, a huge army." (EZK 37: 5-10 MSG)

As well as leading worship at the regular Breathe events Andy has led worship at national events such as Living Water and Spring Harvest as well as Message events. In February 2007 Survivor’s emerge label released Andy’s first album Breathe (7 tracks for £6.99).
